Will my data plan be active on my new device?

Bought a phone from my friend since my lcd somehow got disconnected on my other phone. Was planning to wipe his phone from all his hockey apps/pictures/dl's and then just install my SIM card and the rest of my apps via app store etc. Just wondering if my 4G will be accessible on the new device

The data plan is associated with the SIM, not the phone. As long as the SIM is the right size, and the phone is suitable for use on your carrier's network, and is 4G-enabled, you'll have no problem.
