Reset PIN for changing "Lock screen type" from swipe to fingerprint/PIN/pattern

My current lock screen type is swipe. I want to change this to fingerprint/PIN/pattern.

But when I go to: Settings => Lock screen and security => Screen lock type

...it asks me for a PIN. I've tried all the relevant PINs I have created and none work. It just keeps saying "Try again". So I'm currently stuck with no security and swipe unlock.

How do I reset this PIN and change my Lock screen type?"

If there's a pin someone had to configure it or else it wouldn't ask for one. Have you tried 0000 or 1234? If you can't find it I believe the only thing that you can do is reseting the phone through the bootloader since if you try it from the settings it will ask for that pin again.
