why am i not getting new email notifications for my galaxy s7 edge (tmobile)

I have to manually go into my email app and refresh it to see if i received any new emails. This just started happening yesterday. This has happened in the past and i remember the solution was fairly simple, but I've searched all over the internet to find the solution again, but i can't find it. before you comment.... yes all my notifications are on, i've already cleared my cache, all the syncing is on, i've deleted my email account and readded it, i've turned my phone off and turned it back on again, i've already turned off the "turn background apps off" or whatever it is... THOSE ARE NOT THE SOLUTION. HELP?!

Welcome to Android Central! Any power-saving modes turned on? If so, turn them off. Or if you have 3rd party battery-saving apps, uninstall them. Also, go to Settings>Data Usage, and make sure Restrict Background Data is not turned on, either universally or specifically for the Email app.
