How can I save some mobile data while playing Pokemon Go on Motorola moto G

[AC Question]

I have 750mb of data a month, it will get reset on 23rd.

I am going away for a week before the 23rd and it will be reset while I am away, when I go I will roughly have 500mb to use until then. Is there a way I can make that go longer without eating my data up? I think it takes about 10mb per hour at the moment, I am using 4G and have not turned anything else on or off (Like restrictions) I do get updates and notifications still when using my mobile data.

I dont want to download any apps to do this.

I have a few apps downloaded and some seem to run when my data is on.

I do not know much about phones.

Any help?
