I just lost 1000+ pictures off my Galaxy S5

I was trying to look at a picture and then my phone froze. I turned it off and when I turned it on again all my pictures on the SD card were gone. When I try to check the SD card it tells me there is no data on it. Very frustrating.

Make sure that you actually explore the DCIM folder located on your MicroSD card.. Also, if the image files are not on the SD card nor are they on the Eternal Memory of the device, this may require one locate a file/data/image recovery app.

Just as a suggestion and for future refinance.. Transfer your images off your device onto you computer or alternative storage device. You can also like to Goolge Drive to storage and save your images or data.

Check it on a PC. It may be hidden.

And always do a backup. That's why Google Photos, Dropbox, and OneDrive exist. SD cards do fail at the most inappropriate of times.

Download DiskDigger, execute and see if that helps. It may not give you a 100% satisfaction but you should be able to get most of your photos back.
