    Hi all,

I have a shiny new S7 edge and I've noticed some odd behaviour. When I leave an area with WiFi, i get a brief notification that says "Left WiFi Area". At this point, my phone automatically turns off the WiFi connection and if I enter a different WiFi area, I have to turn it back on manually.

I have the box ticked to keep WiFi always on during sleep, and smart network switch is disabled.

Is there a way to keep the WiFi activated so it will automatically connect to a trusted network when it is in range?

    Thanks!

Ah hah! Found it...battery guru app has a wifi time out setting, I think that'll be the fix. I can save locations for it to come back on automatically. If only I knew it had this feature when I installed it!

Not a bad feature if you know it's there and can manage it

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier do you have? Check any carrier-branded apps (like My Verizon), since they can sometimes include network management tools as well.

I'm in the UK and my provider is EE. I don't SEE any apps from EE on my phone, but I can't be certain there isn't something lurking there turning off my WiFi for me (hmm... sounds suspiciously like the provider wants me to use up my data!)

Any power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party power-saving apps?

BatteryGuru is a 3rd party app. (Actually, there's another one without the space--Battery Guru--but I doubt that's the one the OP is talking about.)
