When I purchased my Moto G (2013) I was able to transfer files from my PC now I cannot do this, why?

Phone connects to PC by USB ok and is visible. I then open iTunes and try to drag song across - as soon as it hits the phone window a "no entry" sign appears. Have tried all sorts of ways to try and overcome this but nothing appears to work???

Because you're using iTunes? Navigate to the folder where the music files actually are.
