should i stop using my LG G3 due to inability to do security update

I'm wondering if i should discontinue use of my LG G3 D852 because when i had my phone rooted, i changed my boot screen (because I thought it would be cool!) and cannot recover the original LG boot screen. My phone has the Nexus boot screen and is now unrooted. But when LG sent me an OTA security update, I tried to install it but my phone during the software update process. An error message pops up, it then returns to nomal mode but it tells me my phone is rooted even if i uninstalled root.
My MAIN concern is about Stagefright and other security issues not being patched because of the inability to do an security update. SO should I stop using my LG G3 until my contract ends?
