When I brought it in Africa, it worked for about 2 weeks then on one morning it showed device memory damaged. That the data partition has been corrupted and so I need to reset it to factory defaults. I have tried to press the suggested three buttons but it doesn't even bring the options shown on youtube so that I wipe data as shown on internet. what could be the reason then?I have also tried to remove and place back the battery but to no avail. I mean it still tells me that device memory is damaged. Please come to my aid.

    Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately that is a hardware issue which needs professional repair. It is not something you can fix yourself
