My tab a 9.7 t5550 freezes with skye video call.

I have updated to 7.19.0.607/534 version of skype and with both versions it starts freezing or stuttering. Using a galaxy s5 phone it works fine using the same router. I have only just started using the tablet for Skype and it fails with both versions of skype. Any ideas
