I connected my new LG G5 phone to my Windows 7 netbook computer with the provided charging cord. I want to copy some photos onto the computer. All Windows Explorer will show is the phone name folder ("VS987") and no files. On the phone, under "Share & Connect", I enabled "File Sharing". It says it can't find any devices.

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel on the phone and tap the USB icon. Make sure MTP is selected. The Share & Connect feature you were trying is for NFC (Near Field Communication), which allows two devices to transfer information by simply putting them right next to each other.
