S7 edge pictures not compressing when messaging

When I message large file/pictures, my S7 edge is not compressing them automatically and it just sends them as big files which get failed to be received. And instead of installing an additional app and resizing the pics manually, where can I find the setting so the pictures will be compressed before sent via messaging?

What app are you using? Not sure about the stock app but Handcent has s setting for max size and I think it'll cause large files to compress before sending. I'm sure other apps have this setting you'll just have to find one that you like.

I downloaded and using an app called "Photo Resizer" currently since my phone is not resizing any of my pics automatically like my husband's phone does which is also a S7 edge. So I've compared every photo and messaging settings of the two phones and the phones' settings are same. So now I'm puzzled at why two same phones with same settings but one is compressing photos automatically before sending them via message but one is not?
