Why do some of my incoming call go directly to voicemail

Sometimes my phone just gives me verification that I have a voicemail but there is no indication showing that my phone even rang and it is not always the same number that this happens.

If the network can't find you, it will default to voicemail. You can usually extend the number of rings before the call gets redirected. You can also set up when you want the call to be redirected like on no answer, or busy etc... You can dial in the codes directly or call your network provider and they can do it for you ...

Some devices will do it from the call settings, more settings menus as well... Not sure what you have there...
