Creating more memory on phone

[AC Question]

I need to create storage on my device. When I delete things like old photos and texts, do I then need to go somewhere on my phone to PERMANENTLY delete them again, like you have to do when deleting emails (i.e., delete, then go to TRASH and empty that folder as well)?I just deleted a bunch of texts and my STORAGE amount didn't change....

Texts don't consume much space. Go to Settings then Storage. On there is a representation of what is using your space.

What phone do you have, what OS is it running and what capacity is it?
