Fast charging not working

[AC Question]

All of a sudden my fast charging stopped working. It worked properly for around 8 months. So I replaced my charging port with a new one. This didn't seem to work. I also can't transfer data to my pc, it's only charging but it doesn't recognise the phone.
Anyone who might know what the problem might be?

I'd have to suspect the workmanship here. Maybe something shorting (shorted) out at the back of the port... Blob of solder maybe.. Also, touching electronic contacts with metal things (like soldering irons) can discharge a static burst and potentially damage internals of the microchips connected to that area...
I assume you checked the cables prior to dismantling the device..?
