Why does my battery run down so quickly?When should I get a new battery?

My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 battery seems to run down so quickly. Any thing I should be doing to prevent this? I close out my open apps before I get too many open then I just read there really isn't a need to do that. Help!

Charge the battery to 100 %, let it run down to 30% and look in battery manager what's using the battery. If it's an older one, you may need a new battery... They have a finite number of recharges before they degenerate and eventually fail.
