All the sudden I have an X in by battery indicator on my phone when I try to charge.

Last night I put my S5 on charge and this morning it says" it could not charge it because the cable I used( for a year now) was incompatible. Use the original cable that came with my phone". There is an X in the battery indicator. Is this a virus or did Apple take over?

Have you tried another lead?

Definitely sounds like a bad cable or charger.
