Charging my Samsung S5 with a Belkin charger

Hi my Samsung s5 has started playing up. It gets really hot, freezes & dies it's own thing.
My Samsung charger wire split so I bought a belkin wire but still using the Samsung plug to charge my phone, could this be the reason for it acting up?
Any advice please?

Wire is wire, whether it's Samsung or Belkin. As Belodion says, I'd suspect the battery.
