Volumes and notfications aren't working

All of a sudden my notification sounds for my messages on my galaxy s6 stopped working I have checked everything and then my notifications all together stopped showing up on my lock screen and I'm my notification bar. Is there any way I can fix this without factory reset because I do not have a computer to fix it?

The S6 is a complex device with myriad settings in many places. Perhaps yours has slipped somewhere.. I assume no updates since the troubles began. In any case, poke around in all your settings to make sure they are all in place.
The usual cache partition wipe and reboot may also fix this..

So you went through your volume settings. Press volume button, in the pop down window there should be a down arrow icon, tap that and you get a further pop down with more volume options (including notifications!)...
Then in settings, sounds and vibrations... Notifications sounds>make sure they are turned on.
Then in the specific apps you want to be notified by, open app, find settings, notifications and make sure you have them on...
Like I said, a complex device...
