How do I stop my android from locking up,or sleeping?it only stays unlocked or awake for 5-10 second

It shuts down like going to sleep and I would have to slide again to open,and sometimes I have to use my security code too,to get the page I was on previously before it closed.Also it does this repeatedly and quickly when I am not touching the phone

Try changing your screen timeout in Settings > Display:

First you need to change your lock out time from your security settings then change you screen time out settings. Screen lock out time will over write the screen time out time.

I use an app called wakey. I just tap a widget on my homescreen and the screen doesn't turn off until I click the widget again.
