How to stop annoying Google notifications?

Been going on for a while and now it's really annoying. I get multiple traffic incident notifications each day about the freeway I commute on. The notification shows up on the main screen and says "Traffic incident on I-210 W" with a blue circle and white triangle/exclamation mark. When I click on it, Google Now search screen shows up. I have disabled Google Map and Google Now notification, but it's still showing up. Help?

When you next get the notification, swipe right on your home screen until the Google thing shows up. You should see the traffic incident card. Click the three dots on the top right of the card. You can disable that type of notification.
