my head phones plugged in but music is only playing through enteral speaker

My head phones stopped working but it saying it's plugged in this is the first time this happened my earphones are new and only use couple times help idk what to do restarting won't work either

First, make sure you've plugged them in fully....there's sometimes a resistance to the last millimetre or so.
If no go, try other headphones. If still no go, the headphone jack may need attention.
