charging symbol on phone but wont turn on?

So my phone won't turn on at all, when plugged in it will show 1% and a battery symbol with a yellow lightning bolt inside. Before this started my phone was laggy and freezing so I tried rebooting which caused the phone to remain in its logo screen for hours. Then after that the problem occurred, I know this has nothing to do with the charging cable and I have already tired leaving it to charge for over 6 hours which will cause it to not show any charging symbol at all. Also I have already tried holding volume up and power button, volume down and power button and even volume up and down plus the power button. I realized that when holding volume up and down plus power button the screen would flash every few seconds during the process of holding the buttons. Also this is a built in battery, I would need to screw it off in order to replace. I just want to know if this is a possible fix without dissecting the phone? or should I cut my losses and get a new one? Also this a Blu studio 6.0hd

If you let the battery discharge down to 1%, you've probably killed it and have to replace it.
