Had the same problem on my moto g.
For the last few months I've had this problem. I add a new contact (outlook, Google or WhatsApp) and when I look in contacts it's entered successfully. I check a while later and it's still there.
However after about an hour the new contact (but none of my old contacts) disappears. If I've called them or have a text/WhatsApp conversation in progress, it'll just have the phone number with no other details.
This has happened on different phones. All contact syncs are enabled on settings for outlook and Google.
What's going on and how can I add contacts again without them disappearing?
