Why can't I see mp3 files when setting ringtones on my galaxy S5

After my most recent Verizon update, which occurred on October 18, 2016, I can no longer select MP3 files to be my ringtones. The MP3 files are in the Ringtones folder along with OGG files. When I go into settings > sound and notification and tap on Ringtones, a list of system installed ringtones show up. This list would show my custom MP3 ringtones prior to the update. They are no longer there. Even if I tap ADD, the system displays any custom OGG files but it does not display any of my custom MP3 files. Any Idea as to how to make them usable?
