How do I Factory Reset?

I currently have 2 step authentication on my google account (text message) and would like to do a factory reset on my S7 Edge. Will I be able to log into my phone using backup codes, or should i turn off the 2 Step Auth before doing the factory reset?

It's usually a good idea to disconnect your google accounts FIRST, JUST in case, this will turn off any authentication and avoid possible problems, BUT this is otherwise the procedure....

I suggest printing a copy of your backup codes (accessible in your Google account security section), then scratch off the one you use. Keep a copy of those codes in a safe place for future use.

Or just use a password safe for the codes.
