Notification sounds no longer working after installing Zedge on Galaxy S5

[AC Question]

I recently installed Zedge (free app for ringtones, wallpapers and notifications). I have found that the ringtones work without any problems but not notification alerts.

At first I would still have the message alert that was already on phone, even though it was showing that my Zedge download checked as the alert sound.

Now I am not getting any alert for messages, even when messages are closed. I also tried using a Zedge alert for Facebook Messenger and now I don't get any sound with that either....gggrrr!
I tried uninstalling Zedge but it made no difference.
Please help! I run a business and in this world of SMS I do not want to miss any messages and am already sick of checking my phone all the time in case I have a message waiting.

Welcome to the forums. The S5 may be looking in a different folder for your files. You could try downloading those tones again, and moving them.
