Message centre number

[AC Question]

Hi.

I have a Galaxy S5 on O2 PAYG. It was originally with Vodafone.
My problem is that whenever there is an update, the message centre number changes back to the old number. I can change it back to O2 but it's a right pain at times.
So, is there a fix please.

Sorry, forgot to mention that this also happens when the phone is restarted.

Perhaps the phone was not unlocked properly; that is, by using a code provided by the original network?

Thanks belodion. I never knew that could be a possibility.
That should be fun as I don't know the old number and as it's an ebay purchase from a shop, I suppose I'm stuck.
Unless the experts on here can suggest something.

It might not be that. I'm in the UK myself and know from personal experience how spectacularly unhelpful the network offices can be if you ask them for help in solving a problem, but it may just be worth a visit in your case.

Sorry for the delay but thanks.
I'm actually overseas but using O2. Seems like I'm stuck with the problem for now.
I'll have a chat with the guy in the local O2 shop next time I'm in the UK.
