Native clipboard - KitKat vs Marshmallow

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung S3 running KitKat and a Blackberry DTEK50 running Marshmallow. The native clipboard in KitKat is awesome, specifically because it is integrated with the SMS interface, allowing seamless pasting of messages saved to the clipboard. In other words, while in the SMS interface, a long tap will provide two options: PASTE and CLIPBOARD, the latter which allows access to the clipboard history.

In Marshmallow, the SMS interface provides a single long tap option: PASTE. This a the latest text that was copied to the clipboard.

For Marshmallow, is there a way to add (by third party app or otherwise) the "CLIPBOARD" option when long tapping in the SMS interface?

On KitKat, when you selected "clipboard", what happed?

The clipboard in MM contains only a single item (the last one you copied/cut, the previous item is replaced). Thus "paste" gets you access to the only item on the clipboard.
