I enable developer options and USB debugging, but my Mac still can't connect to the device

I am trying to develop an Android app on my Samsung Galaxy S7. I have enabled developer mode, enabled the USB debugging, and I have plugged the phone into my Mac using a USB cable. The cable charges my phone and I've used it to transfer files in the past.

One more issue: I can no longer transfer USB files from my phone to my Mac.
