Why is my Data Roaming off but I still receive overseas text messages?

I am on vacation, I turned off data roaming on my samsung galaxy s7, and for some reason I still receive texts from my home country and in the intro screen it shows a roaming clock and home clock.

How do I fix this?

Text messages are carried via your phone line, not via your data connection.

You should have turned off international roaming before leaving the country. I usually get a cheap local prepaid SIM when overseas and use WhatsApp to chat via WiFi to family... That way I avoid bill shock (that you will probably get when you return home)
