Why is my asus zenfone receiver suddenly has no sound?

Hi, Can anyone help me please about my asus zenfone lazer 5.5?No sound in the receiver both for incoming and outgoing calls. i have to turn on the speaker just to hear the call. i had no recent update done and none is available. This just happened i don't know what caused it. Please help. Thank you.
