My Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) overheated while fast charging and it smelled like burnt plastic

AC Question

I've had this phone for 5 months now. It gets hot while fast charging, but this is the first time it happened. I left my phone to charge for 20 minutes, and when I came back, the part of the charger cable connected to the phone and the lower part of the phone were very hot. It smelled like burnt plastic. I unplugged it and turned it off immediately. The charging port still smells like burnt plastic now. I suspect it would have melted if it had been plugged for longer. What do you suggest I should do?
