I want to upload the photos from my device (a Google Pixel) both to Google Photos and also to the open source self-hosted photo gallery software Piwigo. But I don't want to have to set the title (or description) of my photos twice.

Through trial and error I've found that Google Photos will preserve the title if it's set either in the XMP Description field, or in the IPTC Caption field, but not in the EXIF ImageDescription field. Piwigo can use any EXIF or IPTC field (it's mappable), but doesn't support XMP at all.

I have found an Android app that sets EXIF ImageDescription—EXIF Toolkit, which works great for Piwigo—and one that sets XMP Description—Photo Mate R3, which works great for Google Photos. But I really need to find an app that can set IPTC Caption, which would work for both galleries.

    Does anyone know of one?
