My apps disappeared from my tablet opening page

My apps show as a gray square with the letters apps and the Amazon logo

That usually means that the apps aren't installed in the phone. (The icons on the home page are just shortcuts.) Go to the app drawer (the 6 or 9 dot icon at the bottom) and see if you can find them there. If you can, just long-press an app, then drag it to the home page to create another shortcut. If they're not there, you'll have to reinstall them from the Play store.)
