Why is my battery no longer charging despite lightning bolt icon appearing?

Hi all,

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

For the last couple of days I noticed that my phone no longer charges when in normal mode even though the lightning bolt appears over the battery icon. It does charge fine when in Ultra Power Saving Mode.

I get a lot of notifications about overheating, too many apps etc. but I've always acted upon them. Those notifications started long before this charging issue occurred (in fact, pretty much since I got the phone) so I'm not sure they're related.

I'd be grateful for any help,

I've tried 3 different Samsung cables both through a wall socket and laptop USB port.

It may be an issue with the physical connection. Do you have any local repair shops that can confirm this?

Think there is a Carphone Warehouse I can leave it in to before I go to work tomorrow and pick it up that evening.
