Droid Turbo 6.0.1 system update on 1/4/17. Why can't I transfer my pictures onto PC?

I allowed the system update on January 4, 2017. This morning (Jan 5) I attempted to transfer my picture files as usual. I was unsuccessful. I restarted both the phone and the PC, installed updates to the installing program. I was still unsuccessful. Why will my photo transfer not work after this operating system update?
