My screen is black and I want to recover my text messages?

I have an LG G2 and my screen went black. I can still unlock the phone and even connect to the pc. Just cant see the buttons and want to recover my text messages.

Welcome to Android Central! You could try using a SlimPort cable to connect the phone to an HDTV or monitor in order to mirror the screen. If the touchscreen digitizer still works, you should be able to navigate.
