I created a folder in my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge phone Gallery for all our vacation photos and named it HongKong Dec 2016. I wanted to transfer the entire folder to a USB so my son can transfer them to his laptop for an assignment. So, I attached the Samsung-provided USB connector to my phone. Then I inserted a new USB where I intended to transfer the photo files. I chose all photos and transfered the files into a similarly named and newly created folder in the USB. I saw through the file transfer progress. I waited until it transfered all 272 photos. Transfer finished. I checked the USB folder files. They were there. After ejecting the USB from phone and inserting it into the laptop to begin download, we find the folder empty. Checked my phone's photo gallery and it was empty, too. Now all I have are two digital locations (phone and usb) with nothing but an empty folder. Can someone please help me figure out what happened and how may I recover the photos? Thank you!
