Second sim card not working galaxy S7 edge dual

The 1st sim is for phone calls and data 4G..2nd sim is roaming
To receive calls only.
The problem I cannot put the second sim no data roaming and if i put it 2Goes only giving me emergency calls only.
Please help me to have 2 sim cards working

Does whatever carrier you second sim is with support 2G? From my research the second sim will only run on a 2G network. Not many carriers support 2G. This is from me scouring around forums so what I say may not be 100 percent accurate.
