How to save an audio text from the Message+ app as an mp3 file?

I have an LG K4 using the Verizon Message+ app. My daughter sent me an audio text and I want to save it as an mp3 file. When I press and hold the text the only save option is to the Gallery, which doesn't support audio. Any suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I would assume that when the app says "save to Gallery", what it really means is "save to the folder containing your pictures", since "gallery" is not a location.
Try saving to there, then use your file browser app to see if the audio file was saved to the picture folder. If yes, move the file to where you want it.
