My husbands S4 went for a swim a few weeks ago and since then the battery now drains at an alarming rate. It will discharge from full to 10% within 24 hours even when switched off. In standby mode the same thing happens. We have removed the Sim as he uses the s4 as mini tablet and not as a phone. Very slight improvement occurred. We have purchased a new Samsung battery but this didn't change anything.
Everything is working fine on it other than this problem with the battery. If anyone has any ideas that may help we would be pleased to here from you.

A short circuit perhaps? It would need diagnosis by a repairer.

Water and electronics don't mix. Even after you dry the device, the water leaves a film of chemicals that corrode and or short circuit components. It never ends well.
I would back the device up before it expires and replace it before it fails at a critical time...

What is the "best" action to take directly after a phone has been submerged in water and will that differ from what you do if it's been 1+ days?

    Does this question belong here?

I don't think that we've got anything more about that than what Rukbat says in his Ambassador Guide, linked in my post above.
