I bought a Hyperdrive that attaches to the c type USB in which I inserted a micro SD card. It lights up, but I cannot figure out how to send the DCMI files to the card so I can free up more space on my Pixel. I keep downloading and trying file transfer apps, but I still haven't found one that will help.

Why not just utilize the free storage you get on Google Photos for pictures taken with the phone? Once the pics are synced to Photos there is an option to free up device storage space by deleting those pictures from internal storage.
