What kind of music file is it (mp3, ogg, wav)?
What is the exact wording of the error message you get?

Welcome to Android Central! Your music app might need permission to access the SD card, or it might not even have the ability to access the SD. Also, check in the directory where the music files are saved, and make sure there isn't a ".nomedia" file there.
