Why are my favorites removed drom the top of my messages list?

I recently downloaded the nougat update. Now my favorites are gone. They are removed from the top of my messages list. How do I get them back on the messages?
All the individual colors are removed from my people edge. How can I add individual colors back to my people edge?

I use both of these items everyday,and they are quite important to me. Please help me fix it.

Jennie its a seperate choice. Messages and Contacts are columns. As for individual colors I think it is connected to the new themes stuff. I read an article tosay that showed all the changes side by side with old and new. It helped a little.
