Android pay not working on Xiaomi Mi Mix

[AC Question]

Hi All,

Just bought a new mimix for use in the UK.

I've installed the app from Google play but when I go to use the app, I get this message:

"Android pay cannot be used on this device. This may be because your device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader or is running a custom ROM. As a result, Google can't confirm that your device meets Android pays security standards"

The phone is completely standard and not rooted.

Is there a fix?

Hi,

When some MI MIX phones are sold, they have been installed with a fake global rom that sometimes has an unlocked bootloader. The phone will recognise that the ROM/Software is Custom and not official, it will also recgonise that the bootloader is unlocked.
