phone says I'm offline

I have an android phone It says I'm offline how do I get this fixed never had this before and I shouldn't have to be connected to wifi

Do you have an active mobile data connection with a carrier? If you do, and have not exceeded data allowances, then contact your carrier and see what they can do to assist. If you don't have a carrier, then you won't have mobile data unless you are connected to WiFi and will see the offline message.
