TWICE all of my apps folders disappeared!

Samsung S6 on Verizon - two different occasions all of my apps folders disappeared. I rebuilt them last time but 1) is there a reason that anyone knows of why this is happening and 2) is there a way to backup the desktop views so if it does happen again, I can at least restore a saved display?

Welcome to Android Central! When the app folders disappear, do all of the shortcuts you placed in them spill out onto the homescreen, or do they disappear as well?

I'm not sure if Samsung has a way of backing up your homescreen setup (perhaps with Smart Switch?), but I can tell you that Nova Launcher allows you to save your setup, so that's an option to consider.
