How do I fix this Problem?

[AC Question]

I was on youtube when this happened, the app froze and then it stayed open, but showed the home screen. I'm not able to tap the screen. The only part of the screen i am able to tap is the taskbar on top. I can't shut down because I have to tap shut down, and I can't soft reboot because the phone is responive. What should I do? Shoud I wait for the phone to die?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? If it has a removable battery, pull it for 10 seconds. If it doesn't, then press and hold Power for about 15 seconds to force a shutdown. If it's a Samsung phone, you have to press Power and Vol Down together for about 15 seconds.
