Mobile network problem

[AC Question]

Hi. My name is Robinson and I live in Malawi, Africa. I just recently bought a Samsung Galaxy tab e from dubai. I inserting a sim card but no network shows up. Furthermore, it came without a default dial pad. It keeps searthing for networks when I insert a Sim card. I have tried everything but to no avail. Does this tablet support mobile networks. I cannot even select the network operators in settings, it is grayed out. It detects that a Sim is present but no network.

Welcome to Android Central! Tablets almost never support telephony -- the SIM card is only for mobile data (i.e., 3G/4G). And the tablet also has to support the network bands that your carrier uses. Which carrier are you using, and what's the exact model number of the tablet (find it in Settings>About Tablet>Model Number)?
